To create a basic brooder, you will need:
- A plastic tote
- Heat source (such as a heat lamp or plate)

- Bedding material – In the beginning, they will smell so I noticed the shavings are the best approach. I tried using sand and other material but shavings seems to be the easiest to clean. Easiest place to find this is at tractor supply or equivalent in your area.
- Food and water containers – I use this one, https://amzn.to/3NZ9LAI , it’s simple enough for them to use and not drown in it. The food container ive made by simply using a container from the dollar store and a 3d printed port.
Keeping Baby Quail Safe
Make sure the temperature is warm enough and that the chicks have enough space. Avoid overcrowding.
As mentioned, avoid putting any keep water in there, they can drown.
